The Augustinian Monastery is located in Erfurt's Altstadt (Old Town) and is easily accessible on foot from most central locations. From the Domplatz (Cathedral Square), walk south along Domstraße, then turn left onto Augustinerstraße. The monastery is a short walk down Augustinerstraße on the right. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. Note that Augustinerstraße has limited parking; walking is highly recommended due to the central location.
Public Transport
Erfurt has an excellent public transport system. Take tram line 1 or 5 to the 'Augustinerkloster' stop, which is directly in front of the monastery. A single tram fare within Erfurt is approximately €2.30. Trams run frequently throughout the day. Alternatively, many bus lines stop within a short walking distance of the monastery.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available in Erfurt. A taxi from Erfurt Hauptbahnhof (main train station) to the Augustinian Monastery costs approximately €8-€12, depending on traffic. The journey takes around 5-10 minutes. Be sure to specify 'Augustinerkloster in der Augustinerstraße' to the driver.
Driving
If driving, be aware that parking in the Altstadt is very limited and can be expensive. The nearest parking garage is 'Parkhaus am Domplatz', but it can fill up quickly. Parking fees are approximately €2.50 per hour or €18 per day. From the city center, follow signs towards 'Zentrum' and then 'Augustinerkloster'. Consider parking outside the immediate city center and taking public transport or walking the final distance.
