  • Public Transport - Train

    From Essen's main train station (Essen Hauptbahnhof), take the RE 2 or RE 6 regional train towards Gelsenkirchen or Dortmund. The journey to Bochum takes about 10 minutes. Get off at Bochum Hauptbahnhof. Once you arrive at Bochum Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and head towards the left. Follow the signs for Willy-Brandt-Platz. It will take approximately 15 minutes to walk to the city hall from the train station.

    From Essen's main train station (Essen Hauptbahnhof), take tram line 107 towards Bochum. Stay on the tram for about 25 minutes, getting off at the 'Willy-Brandt-Platz' stop. Once you exit the tram, you will find Bochum City Hall directly in front of you.

    If you are starting from the city center of Essen, head towards the main train station (Essen Hauptbahnhof). From there, follow the directions for either the train or tram options above.
