Getting There

• Public Transport

  To get to Innenhafen from Essen, start by heading to Essen's central train station, Essen Hauptbahnhof. Once at the station, purchase a ticket for the S-Bahn (S1) heading towards Duisburg. The train ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at Duisburg Hauptbahnhof. Upon arrival, follow the signs to the bus station located just outside the train station. Take bus line 934 towards 'Duisburg, Innenhafen' and ride for about 15 minutes. After a short walk from the bus stop, you will arrive at Innenhafen, a scenic waterfront area perfect for leisurely strolls and dining.

• Walking

  If you are in the Duisburg area already, you can walk to Innenhafen from the city center. Start at the Duisburg City Hall, located at Burgplatz 19. Head south on Burgplatz, then turn right onto Mülheimer Straße. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Königstraße. At this intersection, turn left onto Königstraße and walk straight until you see the waterfront area of Innenhafen. The walk should take you around 20-25 minutes, and you'll enjoy the urban scenery along the way.

• Biking

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Essen and follow the bike paths towards Duisburg. Start at the Grugapark area in Essen, and take the bike path along the River Ruhr towards Duisburg. Follow the path that leads to the Rhine River, and continue along the river until you reach the Innenhafen area. The ride is approximately 10 km and should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful riverside views.
