Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the main train station (Freiburg Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head west on Bahnhofstraße. Continue straight for about 12 minutes until you reach the large intersection at the Rathausplatz. From there, turn left onto Kaiser-Joseph-Straße, a pedestrian street. Walk straight for another 5 minutes until you reach Münsterplatz, where Freiburg Cathedral is located. The cathedral is directly in front of you.

    If you are near the University of Freiburg, exit the university campus and head towards the nearby Bertoldsbrunnen square. From the square, walk down the pedestrian area of Kaiser-Joseph-Straße for about 10 minutes, which will take you directly to Münsterplatz. The cathedral will be visible as you approach the square.

    If you are at the Schwabentor stop, take tram line 1 or 3 towards the city center. Get off at the next stop, which is 'Bertoldsbrunnen.' From Bertoldsbrunnen, walk down Kaiser-Joseph-Straße for about 5 to 10 minutes until you arrive at Münsterplatz, where Freiburg Cathedral is located.
