If you are starting from Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (the main train station), exit the station and head towards the main street, Bismarckallee. Turn left and walk down Bismarckallee until you reach the intersection with Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. Turn right onto Kaiser-Joseph-Straße and continue straight for about 10 minutes. You will pass several shops and cafes. When you reach the large square, Augustinerplatz, continue straight onto Gerberau. The Gewerbekanal will be on your right side, along with beautiful views of the canal.

From the Freiburg Hauptbahnhof, take tram line 1 (direction: Littenweiler) or tram line 3 (direction: Vauban). Get off at the stop 'Stadthaus' (approx. 5 minutes ride). From the tram stop, walk towards the street called Gerberau, which is just a short walk away. The Gewerbekanal will be to your right, along with picturesque views of the canal.
