Walking
From the car park at the junction of Thumkuhle and Dränge valleys (accessible via the road to Drei Annen Hohne), follow the well-marked hiking trails towards Ottofelsen. The walk is approximately 2.5 km (1.6 miles) and takes around 45 minutes, with a moderate incline. The path is clearly signposted. Be aware that the final ascent to the top of Ottofelsen involves climbing iron ladders.
Public Transport
Take the Harz Railway to the Steinerne Renne station. From there, follow the signs towards Ottofelsen. The hike is approximately 2.5 km (1.6 miles) and involves a steady climb. A single fare on the Harz Railway from Wernigerode to Steinerne Renne costs approximately €7-€10. From the train station to Ottofelsen it takes approximately 45 minutes.
Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi from Wernigerode city center to the parking area near Ottofelsen (Thumkuhle/Dränge valley) costs approximately €23-€28 and takes about 10 minutes. From the parking lot, follow the walking directions above. Note that ride-sharing services are not widely available in this area.
