Walking
From the central square, Marktplatz, head east on Hauptstraße. Continue straight for about 10 minutes, passing shops and cafes on your left and right. As you approach the end of Hauptstraße, you will see the Alte Brücke (Old Bridge) ahead. Cross the bridge to reach the other side of the Neckar River. Once you are across, turn left and follow the path along the riverbank. After about 5 minutes, you will come to a staircase leading up to the Philosophenweg (Philosopher's Walk). Ascend the staircase, and the Thick Tower will be visible to your right after a short walk uphill.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the central station (Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof), take bus number 33 towards Neuenheim. Get off at the stop called 'Königstuhl.' From there, follow the signs that indicate the way to the castle. It's a short 10-minute walk uphill. You will find the Thick Tower as you approach the castle area.

If you have rented a bicycle, start from the central square, Marktplatz, and head south on Untere Straße. Continue onto the bike path along the Neckar River.
