From the Hirschhorn Altstadt (Old Town), the castle is a steep but rewarding walk uphill. Follow the signs towards the castle (Burg Hirschhorn). The path winds through the town's charming streets and then ascends via steps and paved pathways. The walk takes approximately 20-30 minutes, offering scenic views along the way. Note that some sections are quite steep. Free parking is available at Ersheimer chapel along Ersheimer road.
Driving
If driving, follow signs to Hirschhorn Castle. Limited parking is available directly at the castle complex. From the town center, the road ascends steeply. Be aware that parking spaces can fill up quickly during peak season. Parking near the castle complex is free.
Public Transport
From Hirschhorn Bahnhof (train station), take bus line 685 towards Hirschhorn, Altstadt. From there, follow the walking directions. Alternatively, from the train station, it's approximately a 20-30 minute walk to the castle, though the final ascent is steep. A single bus fare costs approximately €2-3.
