This is a straightforward, easily navigable walk.

From Leipzig Hauptbahnhof, take any S-Bahn (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S5X, S6) to Leipzig Markt station. The ride is very short (1 stop). Upon exiting the station, you'll find yourself directly on Marktplatz. A single ticket within Leipzig (zone 110) costs €3.00. Alternatively, from Augustusplatz, take tram lines 4, 7, 12 or 15 to the 'Markt' stop. A short trip ticket (Kurzstrecke) is sufficient for this short ride and costs €2.00.
