Driving
If arriving by car, navigate towards Trechtingshausen via the B9 road, which runs parallel to the Rhine River. From either direction (Bingen or Koblenz), look for signs indicating Rheinstein Castle. There is a designated parking area (Parkplatz Rheinstein) located just off the B9 at the base of the castle. Parking is free but limited to 2 hours, and a blue parking disc is required. From the parking lot, it's a 5-10 minute uphill walk via a paved switchback path to the castle entrance.

For those arriving by train, the nearest station is Trechtingshausen. From the station, it's approximately a 25-30 minute walk to Rheinstein Castle. Follow the road towards the B9, then turn south and follow the B9, and then look for the footpath leading up to the castle. Alternatively, from Bingen am Rhein station, take bus 663 to Trechtingshausen. From the Trechtingshausen bus stop, it is a 10-minute walk uphill to the castle. A single bus fare costs approximately €3-€5.
