Start at Munich Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station). Purchase a ticket for the S8 train towards Leuchtenbergring. Get off at the station called Herrsching. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Herrsching station, exit the train and look for signs directing you to the bus station. You'll want to take Bus 951 towards Andechs. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the stop called 'Andechs Kloster'. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the monastery.

From Munich, you can also take the bus directly from the central bus station (ZOB). Look for connections to Andechs/Erling. The bus ride takes about an hour. Once you arrive at the stop 'Andechs Kloster', you will find the monastery just a short walk away.

Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Munich. The ride to Andechs is approximately 30 kilometers and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Follow the signs towards Starnberger See, and then take the biking routes leading towards Andechs. The route is mostly flat and offers beautiful views of the countryside.
