Train (S-Bahn)
From Munich city center, head to the nearest S-Bahn station, such as 'Marienplatz'. Take the S6 or S8 train heading towards 'Leuchtenbergring' or 'Tutzing'. Make sure to check the destination on the display boards. Get off at 'Starnberg' station. From there, it's a 15-minute walk to Lake Starnberg. Exit the station, turn right onto 'Bahnhofstraße', then follow the signs to the lake.
Bus
You can also take the bus from Munich to Lake Starnberg. Start at 'Hauptbahnhof' (Main Train Station) and find the bus terminal. Look for bus number 962, which will take you directly to 'Starnberg'. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Starnberg, follow the signs towards the lake, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
Bicycle
For a more scenic route, consider cycling to Lake Starnberg. Rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in Munich. Head southwest towards the Isar River and follow the bike paths toward Starnberg. The ride is approximately 30 km and offers beautiful views along the way. Once you arrive in Starnberg, follow the signs to the lake.
