Getting There

  • Subway (U-Bahn)

    If you are near a U-Bahn station, take the U2 line towards Erding or the U8 line towards Leuchtenbergring. Get off at the Sendlinger Tor station. From there, exit the station and walk north along Sendlinger Str. until you reach the intersection with Neuhauser Str. Turn left onto Neuhauser Str. and continue walking straight for about 5 minutes. You will see Karlstor on your right, just before reaching the central square.

  • Tram

    If you prefer to take a tram, find the nearest tram stop and catch the Tram 19 towards St. Emmeram. Ride until you reach the stop at Karlsplatz (Stachus). From the tram stop, head east towards Neuhauser Str. and walk straight for about 3 minutes. Karlstor will be on your left, directly at the end of the square.

  • Walking

    If you are in the central area of Munich, you can easily walk to Karlstor. Head towards Karlsplatz, and once you reach the square, walk towards the impressive gate that is Karlstor. It is located at the western end of Neuhauser Str. and is hard to miss as it is a prominent historical landmark.

  • Bus

    Take any bus that stops at the central bus station (ZOB). From there, you can walk to Karlstor. Head southeast on Widenmayerstraße towards the Isar River, then turn left onto Gabelsbergerstraße. Continue straight until you reach Neuhauser Str. Turn right and walk for about 10 minutes. Karlstor will be on your left.
