Public Transport
From Potsdam Central Station (Potsdam Hauptbahnhof), take the S7 train towards Ahrensfelde. After approximately 35 minutes, get off at Friedrichstraße station. From there, transfer to the U6 subway line towards Alt-Tegel and ride for 3 stops until you reach the Stadtmitte station. Exit the station and walk east on Friedrichstraße, then turn right onto Unter den Linden. The German Historical Museum will be on your left at Unter den Linden 2.
Bus
From Potsdam Central Station (Potsdam Hauptbahnhof), take Bus 604 towards S-Bahnhof Griebnitzsee. After about 20 minutes, get off at the stop 'S Potsdam Griebnitzsee'. From there, transfer to the S7 train towards Ahrensfelde. Ride for about 30 minutes and get off at Friedrichstraße station. Walk east on Friedrichstraße, then turn right onto Unter den Linden. The German Historical Museum will be on your left at Unter den Linden 2.
Walking
If you are in the heart of Potsdam, you can walk to the German Historical Museum. Start at the Brandenburg Gate of Potsdam (Brandenburger Tor) and head towards the city center. Walk straight along the street towards the main avenue (Alter Markt). Continue straight until you reach the tram stop at Am Alten Markt. From there, you can take tram 91 towards S Potsdam Hauptbahnhof and get off at the first stop. Walk east on Friedrichstraße, then turn right onto Unter den Linden. The museum will be on your left at Unter den Linden 2.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Potsdam. Start from the city center and head towards the Havel River, following the bike paths. Cycle along the river towards Berlin. Follow the signs for the bike route to Berlin Mitte. After about 10 kilometers, you will reach the area of Unter den Linden. Continue following the signs until you arrive at Unter den Linden 2, where the German Historical Museum is located.
