Getting There

  • Train

    From Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take the S7 train towards Ahrensfelde. Get off at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Station). From there, exit the station and head west towards the Spree River. You will see the large park area of Tiergarten directly ahead, approximately a 15-minute walk from the station.

  • Bus

    From Potsdam, take the bus line 605 from the Potsdam Bahnhof ZOB (bus station) to S-Bahnhof Griebnitzsee. From Griebnitzsee, transfer to the S7 train heading towards Ahrensfelde. Get off at Berlin Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and walk west for about 15 minutes to reach Tiergarten.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Potsdam. Head towards the Glienicke Bridge and cross into Berlin. Once in Berlin, follow the signs towards Tiergarten, which is approximately a 30-minute bike ride from Potsdam, depending on your route.

    Walking directly from Potsdam to Tiergarten is quite a long journey, approximately 10 kilometers. Start from the Neues Palais in Sanssouci Park, head towards the Glienicke Bridge, cross into Berlin, and continue straight towards the park.
