If you are traveling by car, head towards Stralsund. From the center of Stralsund, follow the signs towards the Rügen Bridge (Rügenbrücke). Once you cross the bridge, you will have Dänholm Island directly in front of you. There is a parking area at the beginning of the island where you can leave your vehicle. Note that parking may have a fee, typically around €2-€4 for a day.

To reach Dänholm using public transportation, take a train to Stralsund Hauptbahnhof (the main train station). From there, you can catch bus line 17 towards Rügenbrücke. Get off at the stop named 'Dänholm' which is the last stop before the bridge. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes and costs around €2-€3. Once you get off, you can walk onto the island and explore.

Alternatively, if you are near Stralsund, you can take a ferry from the old town area to Dänholm. The ferry departs from the dock near the Ozeaneum.
