For a scenic approach, consider walking from Lohr am Main. Follow the marked hiking trails (approximately 11 km) through the Spessart forest. The path leads uphill along Franz-Kraus-Straße towards the forest, passing the SV Sendelbach sports center, crossing the country road and finally following the Way of the Cross, which leads gently uphill. Finally, a flight of stone steps takes you downhill to the Mariabuchen pilgrimage church. The hike takes approximately 2-3 hours.
