The path starts near the Rathaus (town hall) and winds through residential areas before entering a wooded area leading directly to the castle ruins. The final ascent involves a moderately steep climb. There are no costs associated with walking to the castle.
Driving
If driving, navigate to Burgweg 43, 87527 Sonthofen. Limited free parking is available near the base of the hill leading to the castle. From the parking area, it's a 10-15 minute uphill walk to the ruins. Parking is limited and can fill up quickly during peak season. Arrive early to secure a spot. There are no parking costs.
