Car
If you are driving from Taunus, take the B455 road towards Frankfurt. Follow the signs for Frankfurt and merge onto the A66 highway. Continue on A66 and take the exit toward A648. Follow the A648 until you reach Frankfurt city center. Use the exit towards 'Stadtmitte' and follow the signs to Holbeinsteg. There is limited parking available nearby, so be prepared to pay for parking, which typically costs around €2 per hour.
Public Transportation
To reach Main Eiserner Steg via public transportation, take the S-Bahn from any station in Taunus. The S3, S4, S5, or S6 lines heading towards Frankfurt will work. Get off at the 'Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof' (main station). From there, it's a 15-minute walk to Holbeinsteg. Exit the station and head southeast on Wiesenhüttenplatz towards Baseler Straße. Turn right onto Baseler Straße, then left onto Mainzer Straße. Continue straight until you reach the riverbank and follow the signs to Holbeinsteg. Alternatively, you can take tram line 11 from the main station to 'Schweizer Platz' and then switch to tram line 12 towards 'Bockenheimer Warte', disembarking at 'Holbeinsteg' stop. A single ticket costs approximately €2.75.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Taunus and use the bike lanes leading to Frankfurt. Follow the signs towards the Main River and head towards the city center. The route is approximately 20 km and takes about an hour. Once you reach Frankfurt, follow the signs to Holbeinsteg along the riverside bike path. Be aware of bike rental costs, which can vary, generally around €10-15 for a day.
