Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Detmold. Use the A2 motorway and exit at Detmold. From there, follow the signs for 'Teutoburger Wald' and 'Eggegebirge'. The park's main entrance is located at Grotenburg 52, 32760 Detmold. There is parking available near the entrance, which may incur a fee depending on the duration of your stay.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Teutoburg Forest via public transport, take a train to Detmold from major cities like Bielefeld or Paderborn. The Detmold train station is well-connected. From the train station, you can take bus line 701 towards 'Berlebeck' or 'Heiligenkirchen'. Get off at the 'Grotenburg' stop, which is a short walk from the main entrance of the park at Grotenburg 52. Check the local bus schedules for timings, as they may vary.

• Walking

  Once you are in Detmold, if you prefer walking, the park is about a 30-minute walk from the train station. Head southwest on Bahnhofstraße, then turn left onto Grotenburg. Follow this road until you reach the park entrance. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in Detmold and ride to the park. There are designated bike paths leading from the town to the park. The distance is approximately 4 km from Detmold city center to the park entrance, which should take around 15-20 minutes of cycling.
