Parking is available at a designated hiking car park near the base of the hill (Lichtenegg 92262 Birgland). From the parking area, it's a short, uphill walk (approximately 15-20 minutes) to the castle ruins. The parking is free.

From Sulzbach-Rosenberg, take bus line 464 towards Birgland. Get off at the Lichtenegg stop. From there, it's approximately a 20-minute walk uphill to the Burgruine.
