    Getting There

    By Car

    From any location in Upper Palatinate, head towards the A93 motorway. Follow the A93 south until you reach the A92, where you will switch to the A92 towards Munich. Continue on the A92 and merge onto the A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Take the exit for Fussen (B17), which will lead you directly towards Schwangau. Follow the signs for Neuschwanstein Castle. Once you approach the castle area, you'll find parking lots available, but note that a parking fee (around €6 for the day) is applicable.

    By Train and Bus

    To reach Neuschwanstein Castle via public transport, first take a train from your nearest station in Upper Palatinate to Füssen. You may need to transfer trains in Munich depending on your starting point. Once you arrive in Füssen, you can catch bus number 78 or 73, which will take you directly to the Neuschwanstein Castle ticket center. The bus fare is approximately €2.50 one way. From the ticket center, you can either hike up to the castle (about 30 minutes) or take a horse-drawn carriage for a fee (around €7.00 one way).
