Walking
From the Tourist Info in Bad Marienberg (Wilhelmstraße 10, 56470 Bad Marienberg), the trail starts by heading up Wilhelmstraße, passing the Protestant church on the right. Continue to Marienquelle, a small grotto. Follow the path downhill until you reach the Schwarze Nister river. The trail then accompanies the river through the Bacher Lay nature reserve. The route is well-signposted.

From the 'Neuer Weg' bus stop in Bad Marienberg, walk towards Wilhelmstraße. The Tourist Info, where the trail begins, is a short walk from the bus stop. Bus lines 116 and 483 serve this stop. A single bus fare within Bad Marienberg is approximately €2-€3.
