From Essen Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take the S6 train towards Essen Steele. After approximately 10 minutes (3 stops), get off at Essen Steele. Transfer to bus line 184 towards Altenessen and ride for about 15 minutes (5 stops) until you reach the 'Burgstraße' stop. Walk down Burgstraße for about 5 minutes; Altendorf Castle will be on your left. A single ticket for the train and bus will cost approximately €2.80.
