Getting There

Walking

From Casemates Square, walk south along Main Street. Turn left onto Reclamation Road, following signs for the Cable Car. Continue uphill, passing the Alameda Gardens on your left. The entrance to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, and the path to Signal Hill, will be on your right. Note that access to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve requires a ticket. Walking to the top of Signal Hill from the entrance takes approximately 1.5 to 3 hours.
Public Transport

Take bus number 2, 3, or 4 to the Cable Car station from various points in Gibraltar. From the bus stop, walk towards the Cable Car station and either walk up to Signal Hill or take the shuttle bus provided by the nature reserve. Bus fares are typically around £2 for a single journey. From the Cable Car station, it is possible to walk to the top of Signal Hill, though this involves a steep walk.
Cable Car

The Gibraltar Cable Car provides a direct route to the top of the Rock, near Signal Hill. The base station is located next to the Alameda Gardens. A return ticket costs approximately £19.50 for adults. From the top station, Signal Hill is a short walk away.

Today, visitors can still see remnants of these military installations, offering a glimpse into the region's past. The top station of the Gibraltar Cable Car was built on the site of the old Signal Hill Battery. Nothing remains of the battery, other than the ruins of the WWII support buildings, which included a guard house and stores.Reaching the summit of Signal Hill is an experience in itself. Visitors can choose to hike up, enjoying the natural beauty of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, or take a ride on the Gibraltar Cable Car, which whisks you to the top in just a few minutes. At the summit, you'll find a restaurant, café, toilet facilities, and terraces which offer views across the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco, the Bay of Gibraltar towards Algeciras, and up the east coast towards Marbella.Whether you're interested in history, nature, or simply soaking in the stunning views, Signal Hill promises a memorable outing in Gibraltar.
