Getting There

  • Walking

    From Casemates Square, proceed south along Main Street. Turn east towards the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens, Alameda. Continue uphill on Engineer Road, following signs for the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. The walk to the top is steep and takes approximately 1.5 to 3 hours. A Nature Reserve ticket is required for entry. Consider entering via the Moorish Castle or Jews' Gate.

  • Public Transport

    From the Gibraltar border, take a bus towards the city center. Alight near the Cable Car base station or Casemates Square. From there, follow walking directions or take another bus route towards the Moorish Castle to enter the Nature Reserve. A Hopper Bus Ticket provides unlimited travel on local bus routes. Bus 1 stops near the Moorish Castle.

  • Cable Car

    From the Gibraltar border, walk or take a bus to the Cable Car base station on Grand Parade. Purchase a round-trip ticket, which may or may not include the Nature Reserve fee. The cable car ascends to the Top Station in approximately 6 minutes. Upon arrival, access the Upper Rock Nature Reserve and its attractions. Cable Car tickets (including Nature Reserve access): Adult round trip £49.00, Child round trip (4-11 years) £31.00.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available at the Gibraltar border and in Casemates Square. Negotiate a tour price with the driver, ensuring it includes entry fees to the Nature Reserve. A taxi tour typically lasts 2 hours and visits key attractions. A taxi tour for up to 8 people costs approximately £360, including Nature Reserve entry tickets. A taxi from the Gibraltar Passport Control Station to the Rock costs approximately €3.
