Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Syntagma Square, head north on Vassilissis Sofias Avenue towards the National Garden. Continue straight until you reach the end of the park, then take a left onto Amalias Avenue. Walk towards the Parliament building, and then turn right onto Stadiou Street. Follow Stadiou Street until you reach Omonia Square. From Omonia, take the exit towards Piraeus, and walk straight until you reach Monastiraki Square. From Monastiraki, follow the signs directing you to the Acropolis. Ascend the path leading to the Acropolis and once you reach the top, turn left and follow the path to Areopagus, which is located just west of the Acropolis. The area is marked and easy to find, offering stunning views of the city.

    To reach Areopagus by metro, start at any metro station and make your way to Monastiraki Station. If you are near Syntagma Square, take Line 3 (the blue line) towards the airport, and change at Monastiraki Station to Line 1 (the green line). Once you exit Monastiraki Station, follow the signs to the Acropolis. Walk up the pedestrian street towards the Acropolis entrance, and when you reach the top, turn left to find Areopagus, located just west of the Acropolis.

    From Syntagma Square, take bus number 550 towards Kifisia. After a short ride, disembark at the 'Akropoli' stop. From there, follow the signs to the Acropolis entrance. Once you reach the Acropolis, turn left and walk to Areopagus, which is located just to the west of the Acropolis itself. The bus stop is close to the Acropolis entrance, making it a convenient option.
