Lycabettus Hill: Athens' Majestic Overlook

Getting There

• Metro

  Take the Metro Line 1 (Green Line) from any station in Athens towards Kifisia. Get off at the 'Panepistimio' station. From there, transfer to the Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) towards Doukissis Plakentias. Get off at the 'Evangelismos' station. After exiting the station, follow the signs to the exit that leads to 'Lycabettus Hill.' From the exit, head northeast on Vassilissis Sofias Avenue and then turn left onto Likavittou Street. Continue straight, and you will reach the entrance to Lycabettus Hill.

• Bus

  Find a nearby bus stop and take bus number 204 or 140. Your destination is the stop named 'Lycabettus Hill.' From the bus stop, walk up Likavittou Street, which leads directly to the hill. Follow the signs to the entrance.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct option, you can easily hail a taxi or use a rideshare service like Uber. Simply provide the driver with the address 'Likavittou, Athina 114 71.' They will take you directly to the entrance of Lycabettus Hill. Make sure to check that they are taking you to the correct location.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby, you can walk to Lycabettus Hill. Start from Syntagma Square, head north towards Vassilissis Sofias Avenue, and then turn onto Likavittou Street. Follow this street uphill, and you will reach the entrance to the hill. The walk offers beautiful views of the city, especially as you approach the summit.
