The Statue of Theseus, sculpted by Georgios Vitalis in 1868, stands in the heart of Athens, honoring the mythical king Theseus. The bronze statue depicts Theseus seated, wearing a helmet and sandals, with a shield and cloth nearby, set upon a marble column. Relocated to its present location in 2002, it's a prominent landmark in the Thiseio district.

Public Transport
The Statue of Theseus is easily accessible via the Athens Metro. Take Line 1 (Green Line) to Thiseio station. Upon exiting the station, the statue is a short walk away in Thiseio Square. A single 90-minute ticket for Athens public transport costs €1.40.

If you are in the Thiseio neighborhood, you can easily walk to the Statue of Theseus. Head towards Thiseio Square, where the statue is located. From the Acropolis Museum, walk straight towards the Ancient Agora; the statue is near the entrance.
