    If you are starting from the Old Harbor of Chania, head east along the waterfront promenade. Continue walking until you reach the end of the harbor where you’ll see the lighthouse. From the lighthouse, turn left and walk towards the Old Town. As you enter the Old Town, take the first right onto Skridlof Street. Follow this street as it winds through the picturesque alleys. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing towards Etz Hayyim Synagogue. After a few minutes, you will reach the intersection with Par. Kondilaki street. Turn right onto Par. Kondilaki and walk straight for about 200 meters until you see the synagogue on your left.

    If you are at the Municipal Market of Chania, exit the market and head towards the nearby street called Halidon. Walk down Halidon until you reach the junction with Zambeliou Street, then turn right. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with Par. Kondilaki Street. Turn left onto Par. Kondilaki and walk about 150 meters. The Etz Hayyim Synagogue will be on your right side.

    From the top of the hill at the Kastro (the Venetian Fortress), head downhill towards the Old Town. As you descend, turn right onto Kydonias Street. Continue straight until you reach the Tzami (Mosque) and turn left onto Zambeliou Street. Proceed until you reach the intersection with Par. Kondilaki Street. Turn right and walk straight until you find the synagogue on your left, just a short distance away.
