    From Chania, take a bus from the Chania Bus Station (Ktel Chania). Look for a bus heading towards Askifou or Imbros. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs around €5. Disembark at the Askifou village stop. Once you arrive in Askifou, follow the signs leading to the Fortress, which is approximately a 20-minute walk uphill.

    If you are in Rethymno, head to the Rethymno Bus Station (Ktel Rethymno). Board a bus to Chania and transfer to a bus going to Askifou at the Chania Bus Station. The total travel time, including the transfer, will be around 1.5 to 2 hours.
