Bus
From Heraklion, take the KTEL bus from the central bus station to Rethymnon. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Rethymnon, transfer to a local bus heading towards Kourites. The bus will drop you off near the village. From there, walk towards Platania Gorge, following the signs. It should take you around 20 minutes on foot.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a taxi from any location in Crete. For example, from Rethymnon, it will take approximately 30 minutes to reach Platania Gorge. Just give the driver the address 'Kourites 740 61' or mention 'Platania Gorge' for guidance.
Walking
If you are already in Kourites, the Platania Gorge is within walking distance. Head north from the village center, following the road signs for Platania Gorge. The distance is about 2 km, which should take roughly 25-30 minutes on foot.
