If you're driving from Argostoli, take the road towards Lixouri (EO Argostoliou - Lixouriou) and follow the signs for Lixouri. After approximately 18 km, take the ferry from Lixouri to Ag. Dimitrios (the ferry costs around €3 per person, and the crossing takes about 20 minutes). Upon disembarking, head north on the EO Lixouriou - Argostoliou road. Continue for about 30 km until you reach the junction for Erisos. Turn left onto the road to Erisos. After about 8 km, look for signs indicating Alaties Beach. The last part of the drive involves a narrow, winding road; be cautious. There is a parking area near the beach.
