The path follows the Potami River, crossing wooden bridges and navigating rocky terrain. The hike to the first waterfall takes about 20 minutes. Along the way, you'll pass the Church of the Transfiguration, the oldest church on the island, dating back to the 11th century, and the ruins of a Genovese castle.To reach the waterfalls, prepare to get your feet wet! You'll need to wade through a small pond to reach the first waterfall, which is about 2 meters high. For the more adventurous, it's possible to climb the cliffs and continue through the river to reach the second, slightly larger waterfall. Alternatively, a wooden staircase to the left of the pond leads to a path that eventually rejoins the river. Be prepared to swim in some sections to reach the main waterfall. The water can be cold, offering a refreshing respite from the summer heat.Along the way, you'll find a taverna nestled in the woods, offering a place to relax and enjoy a snack.
