Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from Samaria Gorge, start by heading to the nearest town, which is Chora Sfakion. From Chora Sfakion, take the road to the north towards Chania. The journey is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes (around 45 km). Once you arrive in Chania, follow the signs to the Old Port. The Museum of Ancient Shipbuilding is located at Νεώριο Μόρο, Ενετικό Λιμάνι Χανίων, which is near the harbor area. Parking is available nearby, but it may incur fees.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from the Samaria Gorge area to Chania. KTEL buses operate services from the nearby towns, such as Chora Sfakion or Agia Roumeli, to Chania. Check the KTEL schedule for the latest times. Once you arrive at the Chania bus station, you can either walk or take a local bus to the Old Port. The museum is a short walk from the bus stop. The bus fare is typically around €5-€7 depending on your departure point.

  If you are already in the Old Port area of Chania, the Museum of Ancient Shipbuilding is within walking distance. From the Old Port, head towards the waterfront and look for signs pointing to the museum. It is located at Νεώριο Μόρο, Ενετικό Λιμάνι Χανίων, which can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot.
