From the village of Agrafa, the ascent to Nyala Pass is approximately 18km. The road is unpaved and steep, with a maximum gradient of 20% in some sections. Be prepared for sharp turns and potentially challenging driving conditions. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is available near the Civil War monument at the summit.

Nyala Pass is located in the Karditsa regional unit, in western Thessaly. The pass is situated at the southernmost part of the Pindus mountain range. The name Agrafa literally translates to "unwritten" or "uncharted," reflecting the region's history of autonomy during the Ottoman occupation, as it was never recorded in the Sultan's tax register.Driving through Nyala Pass is not for the faint of heart. The road to the summit is unpaved, narrow, and very steep, with some ramps hitting a 20% gradient. It is recommended not to travel alone. The pass offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and a glimpse into the wild and remote beauty of the Agrafa region. Near the summit, a monument commemorates the Greek Civil War. The pass is a testament to the rugged terrain and independent spirit of the Agrafa.
