    From Plateia Ypsilantou (the city's central square), walk southeast on Agiou Nikolaou Street. Continue for about 1 km, passing cafes and shops. Turn left onto Mavromichali Street, then immediately right back onto Agiou Nikolaou Street. The stairway entrance will be on your right after a short walk of about 200 meters. There are no costs associated with walking.

    From the central bus station (Ktel Patras), take bus number 1 towards Agios Andreas. Get off at the 'Agios Nikolaos' stop after approximately 15 minutes. Walk towards Agiou Nikolaou Street and continue straight for about 300 meters. The St. Nicholas Stairway will be on your left. A bus ticket costs approximately €1.60.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available throughout Patras. Inform the driver you wish to go to 'Agiou Nikolaou' or 'St. Nicholas Stairway'. The ride should take around 10 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off at the entrance. Expect to pay around €5 for a trip within the city.
