    Discover more about Lake Antoine

Lake Antoine, located six miles north of Grenville, is a captivating natural landmark in Grenada. Formed approximately 14,000 years ago, the lake sits within the collapsed cone of an extinct volcano, creating a unique tuffaceous ring. The resulting crater has filled with water over time, creating the picturesque lake that exists today.Once significantly deeper, siltation has reduced the lake's depth to between 16 and 23 feet. Covering 42 acres, Lake Antoine is larger than Grand Etang Lake and supports a rich wetland ecosystem. While the surrounding vegetation has been altered for agriculture, the lake remains a vital habitat for diverse bird species, including herons, ducks, and snail kites.Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the perfectly shaped crater from a hillside vantage point. A narrow road leads to the lake, where you can walk the perimeter and observe the abundant birdlife. The lake is also near the River Antoine Rum Distillery and Belmont Estate, offering opportunities to combine nature with cultural experiences.
