Getting There

  • Car

    If driving from central Guam, follow Marine Corps Drive (Route 1) south towards Humåtak. Turn onto Route 2 and follow the signs to Humåtak. Once in Humåtak, continue to the Cetti Bay Overlook, where you'll find parking. The trailhead is located across the street from the overlook. Parking is free. Be aware that the parking area has limited spaces.

  • Public Transport

    From locations in Guam, take a bus to Humåtak. Check the Guam Regional Transit Authority (GRTA) bus schedule for routes and times. Upon arriving in Humåtak, you may need to walk or take a taxi to reach the summit trailhead located at Cetti Bay Overlook. The trailhead is approximately 1.5 miles from the bus stop. Bus fares are approximately $3.00 for a day pass.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available from major hotels and shopping centers in Guam. Ask the taxi to take you to Cetti Bay Overlook in Humåtak. From Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport to Humåtak, expect to pay around $60-$70. Taxi fares generally start at $4.00 for the first mile, and $0.80 every ¼ mile thereafter.

Mount Jumullong Summit, reaching 391 meters (1,283 ft), stands as the second highest peak on Guam, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the island's lush jungles, rolling hills, and the vast Pacific Ocean. The moderately challenging trail to the summit is a favorite among nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, showcasing Guam's unique flora and fauna. The mountain holds cultural significance for the Chamorro people and is often visited for its spiritual importance. The trail is adorned with the Stations of the Cross, representing the 14 events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion, and a Virgin Mary grotto, where candles are lit and prayers are offered. Every Good Friday, a large crowd of Catholic followers makes the hike to the top, carrying a new cross to adorn the peak. The hike typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes to reach the summit, depending on your pace. Along the way, hikers can enjoy the diverse vegetation, including wildflowers and palm trees, and may spot local wildlife such as geckos and chameleons. From the summit, the views extend to Cocos Island in the south, Two Lover's Point and Hotel Row in the west, and the cliffs of the Air Force base to the north. Be aware that the trail can be slippery and muddy after rain.
