Getting there

Walking

From the entrance of Leo Palace, the trailhead is located to the right side of the road. Follow the red dirt trail. The hike is approximately 5 miles round trip and considered moderately difficult. Be prepared for muddy conditions and a steep descent to the falls with the aid of ropes.

Public Transport

From Mount Jumullong Manglo, take a bus towards Hagatna. Get off at the nearest bus stop in Yona. From there, inquire with locals about the best way to reach Lower Sigua Falls, as a short taxi ride to the parking area may be necessary. Expect to pay around $10 for the taxi. Once at the parking area, follow the marked trail to Lower Sigua Falls, which is about a 20-minute hike.

Car

From Mount Jumullong Manglo, head southeast on Route 1. Follow Route 1 for approximately 10 miles until you reach the Yona area. Look for the sign indicating Lower Sigua Falls. Turn left onto a gravel road leading to the parking area. Note that parking is free. After parking, follow the marked trail leading to Lower Sigua Falls, which is about a 20-minute hike.

Lower Sigua Falls, nestled in Yona, Guam, offers a captivating blend of adventure and natural beauty. The highlight is the picturesque waterfall that gracefully descends into a clear, inviting pool. The hike to Lower Sigua Falls is a rewarding experience, immersing visitors in Guam's vibrant ecosystem. The trail winds through dense tropical vegetation, offering glimpses of local wildlife and the soothing sounds of nature. The 5-mile round trip hike, considered moderately difficult, involves navigating muddy red soil, crossing a marsh, and descending with the aid of ropes. Waterproof boots are recommended, especially for crossing the marsh. Gloves can also be helpful for rope-assisted sections.Along the way, hikers can explore the remnants of a WWII-era Sherman tank and other historical artifacts, adding a unique dimension to the experience. The final descent to the falls is steep and may require sliding or jumping down a few feet with the assistance of ropes. The pool at the base of the falls is ideal for a refreshing swim.
