Discover more about Sella Bay Overlook

Sella Bay Overlook, located in Humåtak, Guam, provides visitors with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the island's natural beauty. The observation deck is known for its panoramic views of the bay, where the blues of the ocean meet the green hills. The area has historical significance. What is known today as Sella Bay was a village known as Sidya prior to Spanish colonization. During the Spanish-Chamorro Wars in the 17th century, Sidya sided with the Spanish against its neighbor Aty, which was located where Cetti Bay is today. Following the end of the wars, the Chamorros were forced to leave Sidya along with most other villages in Guam and settle into new villages where the Spanish could more easily watch over them. Visitors can explore nearby hiking trails for a closer look at Guam's flora and fauna. The trail to Sella Bay from the overlook is moderately difficult and can be completed in under three hours. The coastal area around Cetti Bay has been inhabited by Chamorros for approximately 3,000 years. The best time to visit is during the early morning or late afternoon for the most picturesque views.
