Chuiraxamolo Ecological Park, nestled in the highlands of Santa Clara la Laguna, offers an exhilarating escape with breathtaking views of Lake Atitlán. This community tourism project, operational since 2004, was conceived by a former mayor of Santa Clara and forms part of four protected areas within the municipality. 'Chuiraxamolo' is derived from the K'iche' word meaning 'place of the green fly'. The park boasts diverse nature activities, including scenic trails, picnic and camping spots, a restaurant, and thrilling attractions like a rappel tower and two ziplines. The main draw is the zipline tour, featuring Guatemala's highest zipline, stretching 1312 feet long and 656 feet above ground. Visitors can choose to ride in the traditional style or superman-style for an added thrill. Beyond the adrenaline rush, Chuiraxamolo Ecological Park is committed to conservation, protecting the diverse flora and fauna of the highlands. It also promotes the culture and traditions of the K'iche' Maya people, offering visitors a chance to connect with the local heritage. The park's mission is to provide quality tourism services while preserving the natural resources of the region.
