If you are driving from any location in the Ixil Triangle, head towards the town of Nebaj. From Nebaj, take the CA-1 road towards the town of Quetzaltenango (Xela). After approximately 35 kilometers, take the exit towards Zunil. Follow the signs to Zunil, which is about 10 kilometers away. Once in Zunil, follow the signs to Fuentes Georginas, which is located a further 7 kilometers up the mountain. The road may be narrow and winding, so drive cautiously. Note that there may be a small entrance fee to access the hot springs.
Public Transportation
To reach Fuentes Georginas via public transportation, start by taking a 'chicken bus' from any town in the Ixil Triangle (e.g., Nebaj or Chajul) to Quetzaltenango. The buses are frequent and usually cost around 20-30 quetzals. Once you arrive in Quetzaltenango, you will need to transfer to a bus heading towards Zunil. The fare for this leg is approximately 10 quetzals. After reaching Zunil, you can take a tuk-tuk (which may cost around 30-50 quetzals) or walk the 7 kilometers uphill to Fuentes Georginas. Be prepared for a bit of a hike if you choose to walk, as the path can be steep.
