Begin your journey at any of the lakeside towns around Lake Atitlán, such as Panajachel, San Pedro, or Santa Cruz. From your location, head to the local dock and purchase a ticket for a boat heading to San Marcos La Laguna. Boats generally operate from morning until sunset. The ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your departure point. Upon arrival at the San Marcos dock, you will be greeted by a picturesque view of the town.

Once you arrive at San Marcos La Laguna, disembark from the boat and take a moment to enjoy the view. From the dock, walk inland towards the main road (Calle Principal). As you walk along the road, you will notice signs directing you to the Mirador de San Marcos. Continue walking straight for about 10-15 minutes, passing through the village with its charming shops and cafes. The path will eventually lead you to a trailhead marked with signs for the Mirador.
