Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the central area of Cobán, Verapaces. Take the CA-9 highway towards the south for about 30 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Chilar. After approximately 10 more kilometers, you'll reach a junction. Turn left onto a smaller road. Continue for about 5 kilometers until you see the signs for Tintal (H2H2+QGR). The destination will be on your right. Make sure to have a GPS device or a reliable map app for real-time navigation.
Public Transportation
To reach Tintal via public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Cobán. Look for buses heading to Chilar; they usually leave every 30 minutes. The bus ride will take about 1 hour and cost around 15 Quetzals. Once you arrive in Chilar, you will need to take a tuk-tuk (three-wheeled taxi) to Tintal. The tuk-tuk ride will cost approximately 10 Quetzals and will take about 10-15 minutes. Make sure to tell the driver you want to go to Tintal (H2H2+QGR) for them to understand your destination.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from Cobán to Tintal. This option will be more expensive, costing around 150-200 Quetzals depending on negotiation. The taxi ride takes about 30-40 minutes, and it is recommended to agree on the fare before starting the journey. Ensure the driver knows the location H2H2+QGR in Chilar.
