If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Antigua Guatemala, which is about 30 km away. Head southeast on CA-1 for approximately 20 km until you reach the junction for San Vicente Pacaya. Turn right onto the road leading to San Vicente Pacaya. Follow the signs for Volcan Pacaya, which will lead you directly to the Centro de visitantes. Please note that you will need to pay an entrance fee at the visitor center, which is typically around Q50 (Guatemalan Quetzals). Make sure to check the weather and road conditions before your trip as they can change frequently.

Public Transportation
To reach the Centro de visitantes using public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Antigua Guatemala. Look for a chicken bus (a local bus) heading to San Vicente Pacaya. The ride will cost around Q10 and takes approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in San Vicente Pacaya, you can either walk (about 30 minutes) or take a tuk-tuk for around Q25 to the Centro de visitantes. Be sure to confirm with the tuk-tuk driver that they will take you directly to Volcan Pacaya's visitor center.
