If you're driving from Bassin-Bleu, start by heading east on Route 1 toward Port-au-Prince. After approximately 5 kilometers, turn left onto Route Nationale 3 (RN3). Follow RN3 for about 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 100. Turn right onto Route 100 and continue for another 8 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the direction to Citadelle Laferrière. You will arrive at the designated parking area near the citadel.

From Bassin-Bleu, find a local tap-tap (shared taxi) that travels towards Cap-Haïtien. Once you reach Cap-Haïtien, transfer to another tap-tap heading to Citadelle Laferrière. Be sure to confirm with the driver that the destination is Citadelle Laferrière, as some may only go to the base of the mountain. The fare for the first leg to Cap-Haïtien is usually around 200 HTG, and the fare for the second leg should be about 100 HTG.
