Walking
From the center of Gonaïves, head north on Rue des Martyrs towards Boulevard des Héros. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Liberté. Turn left onto Rue de la Liberté and keep walking for another 500 meters. You will see signs directing you towards Vaseux. Follow the signs for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. Take the right fork and follow the road uphill for about 1 kilometer until you see the entrance to Laferriere Citadel on your right.

Motorbike Taxi
You can hire a motorbike taxi (moto-taxi) from any point in Gonaïves. Simply tell the driver 'Laferriere Citadel' or show them the address 'HQF4+4H3, Vaseux.' The ride should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The drivers are usually familiar with the area, but it's helpful to confirm that they know the route to the citadel before you start your journey.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle at one of the local shops in Gonaïves. Start by heading north on Rue des Martyrs, then turn left onto Rue de la Liberté. Continue straight until you reach the fork in the road, taking the right fork towards Vaseux. Follow the winding road uphill for about 3 kilometers, and you will arrive at Laferriere Citadel. Remember to stay hydrated and take breaks if needed.
