Car
If you're driving from Port-au-Prince, take Route 1 heading south toward Jacmel. After approximately 2 hours, you will reach Jacmel. In Jacmel, follow signs for the beach and continue on Rue de la Réserve until you see signs for Bassin Bleu. The location is approximately 30 minutes from the center of Jacmel, and you'll need to navigate some dirt roads to reach the entrance. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain. There may be a small parking fee at the entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Bassin Bleu via public transportation, take a tap-tap (shared taxi) from Port-au-Prince to Jacmel. The ride usually takes around 2 to 3 hours. Once in Jacmel, you can either hire a motorcycle taxi (moto) or take another tap-tap heading towards Bassin Bleu. The moto ride will take about 30 minutes and you can expect to pay around 300 HTG for the trip. If taking a tap-tap, be prepared for a longer wait and a few stops along the way.
Motorcycle Taxi (Moto)
If you are in Jacmel and prefer a quicker option, hire a motorcycle taxi (moto) directly to Bassin Bleu. Moto drivers are readily available near the bus station or popular areas in Jacmel. The trip will take about 30 minutes and typically costs around 300 HTG. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
