If you are traveling by car within Río Platano Biosphere Reserve, head towards the town of La Ceiba first. From La Ceiba, take the CA-13 highway heading northeast towards Tocoa. After about 2 hours, you will reach Tocoa. Continue north on the CA-13 until you reach the junction for the road to Bruner. Turn left onto this road, which is unpaved and may require a 4x4 vehicle, and follow it for approximately 30 minutes until you reach Palacios in Gracias a Dios. Note that fuel is limited in this region, so refuel in La Ceiba before starting your journey.

To reach Palacios by public transportation, start by taking a bus from La Ceiba to Tocoa. Buses leave frequently throughout the day, and the journey takes about 2 hours. After arriving in Tocoa, you will need to find a local taxi or a shared van (known as a 'pick-up') that heads toward Bruner.
